The Big Event!!!

WOW!  It was B E A U T I F U L!!!!  Jennifer did an amazing job! It rained on us, but we were in a tent.  It was nice for it to be cool and listening to the rain and women giggling!  We started with a trolly ride to the Ford Plantation.  We then had our big welcome and continued on to our first projects which was our peekaboo petticoat which I fell in love with!  It was taught by the very sweet Christine Rose Elle.  I took out my needle and thread and sewed away.  Then we broke for a beautiful lunch.  After lunch,  Jenn lead us in making our parasols and again I fell in love with the project.  Mine was red, black and white to match my Maranda's room.  Finally, we started on the crazy, fun and beautiful Tiffany's Silhouette.  It was so fun and will also look great in Miss Maranda's room.  We have had an amazing trip together.  These are great gals that tolerate my bossiness.  We have been so busy and laughed all day everyday!  We love all the new girls we have met too.  Jemellia, everyone loved your apron you made me and I handed out all your cards......and people wanted more!  Holly we missed you tons!  Next time we hope everyone can jump on and go with us!  We are anxious to get home to our families and the crazy Oklahoma weather!

Cupcakes and Petticoats

We are so so so so tired!  We have walked all day and then wore high heels (I did anyway!) to the cupcake event!  I felt like a giant when taking pictures with everyone! I actually look like a moose next ot Jenn but oh well I still ate my way throught the cupcakes!!!  We were so worn out but bought so many beautiful things.  It was gorgeous!  These are some pic of me and a lot of the girls at the "Back in the Day Bakery."

Welcome Southern Belle Soiree

Holy Camoly!!!! This is crazy!!! Crazy!!! Crazy!!!  We are having the time of our lives!  It is like a dream world!  This blog is going to be about the welcome night!  I am going to wait until next week to blog about  meeting Paula Deen's brother, going to the beautiful beach, antique stores, meeting new friends, the Tea Room etc.   So much has happened!  How can I make this my job?!?!?  Anyway,  we got all dressed up in our Sunday best and walked into such a beautiful wonderland of pink and frills.  Jo Packham, (Editor in Chief of Where Woman Create), was an amazing sweet, funny and driven woman!  She was such a hoot and I got to sit by her on the trolly ride and visit.  Hopefully, we can get her to OK to photograph my girlfriends and my studios!  The gal taking pictures of me with Jo did not get a very good pic so I will get a better one with her today.  Anyway, the soiree was so much fun and so beautiful!  Rosalyn-Sue Smith had a beautiful sugar bar for us to fill goodie bags up.  It was such a cute idea and the kids are going to love all the sweet goodies we got.  We stayed up late in our room visiting with our new friends Bryanna and Joanna!  They are great artist!  We are dragging this morning and trying to plan out our day!  We do not want to spend too much money today because there will be vendors tonight at the dress up night!  Still on top of the world!  Jenn is and amazing hostess and looks just like a barbie!  She is the one in the picture that has the beautiful pink and black dress and long brunette hair!!!

Petticoats and Parasols (aka Parachutes)

I am so excited to be packed and ready to head to Savannah G.A. in the morning!! We are headed to Jennifer Hayslip's art event!  We will tour, have a soiree, and get to hear Jo Peckman speak!  On Saturday, we will be going to the Ford Plantation to make three art projects from three different artist! Misti is going to pick me up early and we are headed to the airport!  Grandma Leslie is going to meet us there after she goes to the hospital with her sweet daughter Jessica and amazing son in law Wes to find out the sex of their baby!!!  I am hoping girl!  I am ALWAYS wrong.  Grandpa Chris needs a little girl!  Ryan blue label UPSed my dress, gifts and supplies to the hotel in Savannah.  We are so giddy and fired up!  I bought all the supplies on the list but have no clue if I got them all packed.  That is so my personality though.  Leslie will take care of Misit and me if we get in a bind!  I hope to have many pictures to blog soon.  I feel so and guilty leaving our sweet Maranda home sick with her daddy but he says he can handle it!

Doll Army

I finally started and finished my 6 paper dolls for the swap this week when Leslie, Misti and I go to Savannah, GA for Jennifer Hayslips "Petticoats and Parasols" event!  We are so excited and I cannot wait to share all of our experiences!!  Leslie and Misti are at home right now working on their dolls.  I decided to name mine the Savannah cupcake dolls.  Their skirts are made out of cupcake liners as they hold cupcakes on their silver platters.  I hope everyone likes mine.  I just have to figure out how to get them to GA without smushing them too much!!  I think I will put them in a shoe box in my suitcase.  They have taken me all evening to make!!  Leslie, Misti and I played dress up and put on our southern bell dresses and petticoats.  We look cute/hilarious!  We can't wait to get there but have SOOOOOO much to do before we can!  

My Man is Home!!!! LOL!

After 3 WEEKS in Oman's desert, Ryan finally flew in yesterday.  It took him 32 hours of planes and airports but he made it!  He slept throught the night so that is great considering his day's and nights are reversed.  He brought us back some great goodies from what I am guessing was the Oman or Dubai airport.  He got the boys some spy gear and these hats for my boys with huge heads.  Maranda got a camel and I got this beautiful beaded shawl that I will use as a runner.  Feels so great to have him home!  I was so sad and lonely without him.  Thank you for all my friends (Leslie and Misti especially) for keeping me on the move and having fun while he was gone.  Now I am focused on Holly having that baby boy  and the girls and I heading to Savannah for the Petticoats and Parasols event!  Yesterday the amazing Donna kept us super busy making our inchies frames!  It was so fun getting to create and Donna was so generous to share so much with us!  We laughed a lot and I got to sit by my girl Nan!

Easter Kids!

Gabe has been on my case all week about dying eggs, so we decided tonight was the night!  The kids had a lot of fun and so did I.  I didn't even yell at anyone once!!! lol!  They had fun and made some cute designs.  I also had to make cookies for the parties tomorrow.  I remembered Jackie's super cute rice crispy treats so I resourced her fantastic blog and looked it up! These were her pink rice crispy treats with Easter egg nest on top.  Thanks Jackie!!!  Happy Easter All!
